I'm not opposed to trying to fix the damn thing, but I don't think that's an option and even if it were and we made ironclad checks and balances, I think it would all fall apart again over time for the same reasons. Which I guess is what Jefferson meant when he said we'd need a revolution every 20 years to keep it in check.
No a heavy scrubbing needs to be done. Civics back into classrooms and get the indoctrination out of education. Teach children about money, and remove the public unions. Corrupt all of it.
