Sun Tzu also recommends diverting the enemies resources so your own army is living off them, not expending effort to haul supplies. Where would we be putting it? And as it gets sequestered by either side, it is a handicap to the enemy to pursue their own aims, presuming they have expenses like everyone else. There should be signs of financial scrambling.
