Taiwanese company Evergreen reported a 1300% year-over-year jump in net profits in the first three quarters of 2021.
A couple who have worked at Evergreen for more than a decade said they received a combined $180,100 in year-end bonuses. They each earned a basic salary of $2,100 a month, so the bonus works out to about 42 months in monthly wages.
Evergreen attribute the insane revenue growth to rising freight costs. But another freight company "Maersk" only gave their employees $1,000 bonus (taken from same article).
Sounds more like hush money.
I am inclined to agree with you. Was the ship searched? If so, by whom? Did they find human cargo? Weapons or both? I bet the crew could provide some information for good “conspiracy theorists!” 🤣
