King Charles spaniels are bred for their gentleness I guess expecting her to be a guard dog would be much like me expecting our German Shepherd to not bark at the mailman it just doesn't happen. I think you're being a little unfair to your dog it doesn't mean that she doesn't love you just means that she's not meant to be a guard dog.

Our German Shepherd protects us without any training it's in her genetic makeup
