I can’t get threw to any of them. But I think what helps is to act completely shocked when they act crazy and say to them, “I don’t believe you when you say that. That’s not the (insert name here) that I know.” When I’ve said that, they pause for a moment and they take it back, but then slowly justify what they stated using softer terms.
