We knew this was coming. Out of about 50 guys, half got the jab and half of us were against it. Instead of laying off all of us at the same time, they decided to start with the 3 of us that adamantly said no! The others said they would look into it, which bought them some time I guess. There was also an option to apply for religious or medical exemptions. But then you’d have to wear a mask at all times and get tested weekly. I’ll never put a mask on again unless it’s needed from actual harm. And I’m proud to say I never or ever will get tested for a cold. It’s unfortunate, I made good money there and still have a mortgage and other bills to take care of. I think I’m gonna have to leave NY. I realize the states I’d like to go to are probably non union states so I’m not sure what to do. Could use some suggestions frens.

Don't be concerned with the non-union thing. I think you will find that the benefits from your union are far outweighed by the amount of dues you paid. How well did your union protect you from Covid tyranny?
Good luck, Jobs are out there. I think you might like life outside of NYC . Welcome to the revolution!
I agree with this statement.
Basically if you are working non union and you are a self starter at accomplishing the tasks that are required, then you should be able to find work and do well. Generally speaking, the trade skills are in high demand in most places due to a shortage of qualified tradesmen. Also be sure to factor in cost of living should go down outside of New York and in many cases, quality of life may improve.
Obviously you will need to migrate to a state where these type requirements are not being pushed by the state government. So you are almost certainly traveling south. That should net you a milder winter season overall as well.
Wherever you end up, please do not bring the typical New York politics inclinations to bigger top down government control in all things with you. After all if a state is good enough to go to when fleeing New York, then it's probably a good idea to not recreate the philosophical government conditions in that new state that caused you to flee New York in the first place.
Good luck.
Dude, the NYC elite and handout masses are why the Ds flourish . Most working class people and families don’t support any of this horseshit
