This is particularly interesting. Reminded of Marek's disease from another thread and I'm wondering. If a virus' main prerogative is to replicate, to ensure it doesn't become rampantly out of control, could this be a means of ensuring variants that aren't conducive of a particularly exaggerated immunogenic response have a higher chance at replication? Because I'd imagine there's competition to see who gets to which gets to bind first to ace 2? Like competitive inhibition. This could theoretically be a good thing, no?
