I always do a bit of an eyeroll at these types of things, because really, 500 light years away, and we can't even see it. Could spend 1000s of years getting there only to find out it's like mars, and people would be like "damn those idiots in 2022 thinking they knew it was habitual". More realistically, they discovered a planet in what they think is a goldilocks zone, but that's pretty much it.

yeah, we just never know.. i mean, maybe within 100 generations we might know more. but the point is we just don't know enough about it.
