So I know this is not necessarily the site one would come for this type of information or advice, that being said maybe it is. With all that the world is going through and the hardships we likely will be seeing in the next 5-10 years I have started to really jump in to my faith more. A bit of a launching point has been Fr. Mike Schmitz and Bible in a year. I am currently a practicing Catholic and I guess this is where I come to my question/request for advice.

By getting through the Bible in a year it has opened my eyes a bit, however there are parts (ok a lot) that you just hear and have no idea what was just said. My question would be are there good commentaries about the books of the Bible out there such as podcasts, audiobooks, ect. ( I drive a ton for work so audio version is the best for me) Mainly to go through each book more thoroughly so I can get a somewhat better understanding of what was said? I mean book of Revelation, I would understand a bit and then 12 feet over my head. Deuteronomy and Leviticus , great as a lullaby but not much in the way of retention. I am trying to grow in my faith and lead my family as much as I can. I am a big proponent of knowledge = power so there you go.

Also would any one happen to have a list or several fiction catholic novels that are must reads? I know Lord of the Rings and Screwtape letters, any other ideas?

Cheers
