Exactly!
Now imagine being the photographer of this perfect example; I want you to turn around 180 degrees and answer these questions.
Where is the observable horizon now?
How high is this mountain!?
You see, for that image to be a true representation of reality, the photographer must be floating quite far out in space.
No, the earthbound observer will always see the earth’s horizon at the same height, no matter which direction they are looking. Ergo, an apparent straight/flat line.
This time, you were fooled by lens distortion.
What about the people who have climbed it and say "yes the earth is curved when i looked out with my own eyes"
Wouldn't everyone who climbed Mt. Everest say "holy shit the earth is flat"
You seem to be a flat earther, while denying you are one.
No. I just understand spatial geometry.
It is impossible to see the horizontal curvature of the sphere whilst standing on its surface. The only curvature you may be aware of at extreme heights would be a gently slope AWAY from you. The horizontal curvature will be impossible to observe due to the fact that the horizon will appear to be at the same height in EVERY direction and will be observed to resemble a straight line. Straighter then a rule. If the horizontal horizon is curved then the horizon must appear to be at a much different heights in different directions.
Don’t scream flat-earther hust because you don’t understand something. That’s not very intelligent.
Ok then you aren't the type that thinks NASA fakes the photos from space?
