If we're in to naming things, I had the "Alpha" (original) version of COVID. FWIW, I breezed through it with one exception - I lost my taste and smell for about a week. No fever, no pain, no chills.
Fast forward to the vaccines: I refuse to get one just because I already had COVID. It made no sense to me.
Fast forward to "omicron": Most of my friends and family are booster vaccinated. I am unvaccinated. From the end of November to today, we have all tested positive. I breezed through it with a sore throat for ~ one day. My vaccinated friends all suffered for 5+ days.
I can't explain it. I also cannot explain their reactions when they say "Yeah, I would have died had I not been vaccinated"
