I have heard several times from various sources that each individual should do a FOIA request on themselves and wondering if anyone here has and if so, can answer these questions:
*This is, in particular, submitting a FOIA to say, the NSA... those nosey little fucks... https://www.nsa.gov/Helpful-Links/NSA-FOIA/
How long did it take to get a response?
Did you receive just one sheet or two of generic info that anyone could have found online via peekyou or mylife or was it a packet's worth of documents?
Were you surprised by any of the types of information that was provided/being kept or not kept, on you (Not looking for specific details regarding anyone's info, just a simple yes/no)
Do you think that all info that is being kept on individuals would actually be provided to you through a FOIA request or do you believe that they would not allow people to realize the vast amount of tracking they are keeping on citizens?
Will you be completing another FOIA request again in the future to obtain copies of new information about you that is being collected and if so, what time frame from the original request do you plan on doing so? One year? Five years? Ten?
*Added in after submitting original post to add clarity; speaking more specifically about NSA as they have a TON of info on us all
That's about the least horrifying thing one could find out at this point.
