She’s never mentioned this before and I see the new shingles vaccine arrived in 2017. Quick search tells me they got rid of the old vaccine and this new one has some nasty side effects. Also I see some info about the Covid vaccine possibly causing shingles in some people? The conversation was about vaccines, she asked me if I’m totally against vaccines or just Covid vaccine. I told her I want to wait and see on the Covid. Then she brought up the Shingles vax. It kind of felt like……if we can’t get them to take the Covid vax, let’s see if they’ll take the Shingles vax…….
Edit: based on responses, could the shingles vaccine be a contributing factor to those who died with/from covid? How many who died from Covid also had the shingles vaccine? It’s for people over 60 so would be a similar demographic.
From my understanding, the shingles vax will cause shingles in about 30 percent of cases. Shingles is affecting much younger people every year. When I first started in health care years ago, shingles was rare and usually only occurred in the elderly or older patients that were very ill - like being treated for cancer. The shingles vaxxination and the Rona inoculation have now shot that into the stratosphere. My brother received one dose and broke out in shingles from hell. He is in his fifties. He could not wear a shirt for almost 3 months.
Shingles vaxxines are just one more money maker for the drug companies. They are pushing hard for a mandatory adult vaxxine schedule to match the children's schedule. It was all planned. When they introduced the chicken pox vaxxine into the childhood immunization schedule the rate of shingles started to go up. A typical Hegelian dialectic process - problem, reaction, solution. By removing chicken pox from our environment, which is a childhood nuisance disease and very rarely serious, older adults that had chicken pox as children have been unable to be exposed to infected kids in order to give their immune systems a natural booster to keep the chicken pox in check. The vax was supposed to substitute for the lack of natural exposure. A vaxxine does not confer the same type of immune response that natural exposure causes. In addition, there are any number of toxic adjuvants in vaxxines that irritate the crap out of our immune systems. That is the reason the shingles vax can challenge the body in such a way as to actually cause an outbreak.
Shingles is hell - ask anyone that has had to suffer with it. There is a way to deal with any type of double stranded DNA herpes virus - and that includes chicken pox. L-lysine is an amino acid that has numerous studies that show effectiveness at keeping these critters at bay. 500mg to 1000mg a day on an empty stomach at times when the body is going through stress - like from an illness, trauma, or emotional stressors - or daily use for those people at higher risk. Many people have been able to control herpes outbreaks without the need for antiviral drugs or vaxxines. I cannot attest to the long term chronic use of L-lysine but it does not seem to cause any problems that I am aware of. Do your homework.
Next time your doc asks you about getting a jab, ask her if there are any risks. If she is lying she will say no. At that point you need to find another doctor. If she tells the truth she will have to say yes, but she may try to minimize the risks by saying they are rare. Have her explain what those risks are. At that point just politely thank her and say you have decided that you are not willing to take the risk. That is informed consent. Nowhere is this a discussion over whether you are an antivaxxer. Do not allow them to pin that label on you.
I got shingles. Wasn't very painful..didn't take painkillers.
You were lucky. I have seen some pretty bad cases. I had one patient that had a breakout on his head and it migrated into his eye. The poor guy had cancer too. Just remember, if you have had shingles in the past, you are more prone in the future. Let's just pray your luck holds out and it never happens again.
My 1st experience with severe shilgles involved a dermatome that ran fron this old man's shoulder and up over the back of his head into his left eye. Misery defined.
It finally broke him and he died. He was a sick man to begin with. It basically rendered him speechless as he was consumed with pain.
Sounds exactly the same. Even though this guy was in his sixties, which is far from what I consider elderly, he was very sick. As usual, he was on a downward spiral of chronic illness aggravated by severe nutritional deficiencies and environmental toxicities that eventually led to cancer. The shingles was just icing on the cake. He was always in good spirit and quite the jokester which I am convinced helped him hang on as long as he did. Although his last couple of years were pretty miserable, he never seemed down. His wife was one of my regular patients and we could never convince him to try something different. He would only do what his doctors told him - especially when he was diagnosed with cancer. Sometimes it's hard to get people to cut away from what they perceive to be their lifeline - even though in the end it is probably one of the biggest contributors to their ill health.
I don't rely on luck. I take supplements
Good for you. But a little prayerful luck never hurt either. Stay healthy fren.
