There’s a movie I saw in my teens (can’t remember the name) but the law said everyone must plug their brains into this machine and sleep. If anyone was caught awake or up walking around, underground deformed sand people would kidnap them and pull them underground. Turns out the main character’s supposed dead and missing dad was living underground and controlling entire thing and had gone canabalistic with sex slaves in cages.
