Federal legislature and most if not all state legislatures used to have to read proposed bills aloud in their entirety before the entire chamber before a vote could be taken.
Now they just read the title 3 times. To think, we could have been spared so may things like Obamacare if that rule as originally written wasn't consistently "waived" by our betters.
Exactly. Don't you have publish in a local newspaper for 3 weeks or something whenever you start a new business or something? Right? It's to let everyone know, hey..you are doing business in the area and it's sort of a public announcement.
But for some asinine reason when it comes to making laws that affect just about everyone across the entire country, we can pass legislation without anyone actually ever reading aloud what they're getting. ALL of these bills need to be read aloud to everyone..publicly..as a true public service announcement.
