They say the typical. Pull out cash get some extra food and stuff. I’ve never had a warning from them before and would consider them reliable. When Covid crumbles the distraction is close.

At a very minimum you would lose internet and communications. Your personal electronics (computers, phones, etc) may be permanently destroyed, depending on the type of attack. People with a “smart meter” may lose utilities to their house even if the grid as a whole remains intact.
The grid has additional protections compared to the average resident, but is still extremely vulnerable. However, protecting it will be a top priority, and presumably the military has countermeasures to protect it, or at least restore segments of it relatively quickly.
There are so many possible attacks it’s impossible to predict how to prepare. In my opinion, at a minimum you should have the materials and wherewithal to filter water, heat a room in your house, and feed your family for at least 8 weeks. If you haven’t done so, it would also be a worthwhile weekend project to back up all your digital photos and data to a USB stick and store it in a faraday bag.
Nice tip. Off to buy a faraday bag and a jump starting battery.
