Fanboy much?
No one could touch him?
Man there were much more skillful guitarist back in that era.
But, music like art is subjective.
Im giving a musicians perspective of another musician.
I've played now for almost 30 years. Im a songwriter and composer and am currently in preproduction for my second album. I won't say who I am. I'm just throwing it out there for what little is worth.
Page inspired much of my earlier playing style, and that still bleeds through today, more so in the blues genre, which ironically they stole a lot from other older bands.
But that's music. When does inspiration become plagarism? Zeppelin was pretty blatant with much of their stuff.
But in some ways that's ok, cause they made a lot of the original songs better over all.
Yet, i still stick to page is sloppy on guitar, which I can say cause I know, and most pro guitarist do. Sloppy doesn't mean bad. Just means sloppy.
However, plant, no way around it, has an aweful voice. But would zeppelin be the same without it?
No.
Bad doesn't mean bad music. Sometimes bad is magical. For some odd reason.
Sometimes amazinc musicians and singers create shitty or boring music.
It's all subjective.
Page is a genius composer and producer. Just look at the individual guitar parts for songs like the Rain song, Stairway, Ten Years gone, Achilles last stand etc.
The "sloppiness" is due to all his improvisation during their epic concert gigs. No song was played the same way twice.
Cool name btw.
Do you know what 7 thunders ACTUALLY means???
Yes it is a powerful angel that gave hidden knowledge to John the apostle on the island of patmos. No one actually knows what that knowledge contained.
I don't disagree.
I especially love rain song. Really fun to play.
I do also commend him for bringing alternate tunings more into the main stream, which wasn't all that common then. But it's very common now.
Nice!
Tommy Emmanuel is fantastic. One of the world's best fingerstyle guitarists and song writers.
Eric Johnson is also amazing.
When I was a teen in the 90s, my band won a local battle of the bands contests. Was great fun. The drummer went on to be the drummer for the band 'Lit'.
I don't play that style of music anymore. Mostly blues.
Have you heard of Greg Koch? Dude is unbelievably talented. Probably the best guitarist in the world right now. And he's freaking hilarious too.
