Too bad. I think all law enforcement should be bonded (at their own expense) as well. When they are sued for brutality, property damage, etc., the hits should come out of the bond, not the city's coffers. Enough hits on the bond, they become uninsurable, and thus unemployable as a LEO.

If people only knew how much of city's revenues are spent paying for cop mayhem ...
