This tells me Dems in the Senate know they will lose seats in the 2022 mid terms! That is why they are pushing Breyer out now!
They push Breyer out now, vote in majority senate to get another progressive Dem SCOTUS in that seat. Otherwise, if Breyer waits to retire Dems will not have the majority come mid term results, which favor Repubs/MAGA candidates.
Dems will not have the majority after the mid terms. The redistricting in the states is going on right as we speak and it is not going well for Dems as the state legislatures vote on these new district lines.
Dems gerrymandering schemes are over and they know it! https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gerrymandering
So now with the Dems playbook exposed on their SCOTUS plans, what will white hats do as a counter-move between now and mid terms to prevent another progressive to the bench? Anyone have and scenarios or answers?
It is a simple majority in Senate for confirmation of a SCOTUS. Simple majority is 51 out of 100 Senators. Will Manchin, Sinema and 2 independents vote in new SCOTUS?
