One of the best things about the sunshine state is that we could be going through a hurricane and people are doing 90 in a 35, let a light rain come through and everyone pretty much stops where they are.
People here in CA are much the same. 65 mph on LA fwys will see you flattened like roadkill, and when CNN was a wee little baby (before it became the awful thing it is now) there was a rain storm coming into LA. CNN covered it nonstop with kettle drums and James Earl Jones announcing in his amazing voice "STORMWATCH!"
It did rain, so....yeah. Most folks didn't drown, so apparently a miracle from God 0_0
Canada doesn't shut down every time it snows or they would never get anything done.
As a Floridian I would have shut down the lower half of the United States until the temperature rose above a steady 72 degrees f.
