Shoveling can raise your heart rate, I'm curious to see if there are more heart attack after digging out now that so many are vaxxed and boosted. If you got the shot, pay a neighborhood kid to shovel for you.

We had 12" of snow dropped in NOVA on 03 Jan. I checked the local hospital system wait times and yup, the ER wait times were elevated beyond normal for a few days following the snow event. Admittedly, there are more factors involved, but it does make for a good barometer.
I'll keep you posted - I'm in the heart of this one apparently. With a massive bday party scheduled in the middle of it and another party for Sunday evening.
We'll have a blast.
But I think that many will be physically unable to even shovel their snow. Specifically the boosted ones.
I'm not, for a change! Have fun shoveling!
My history in hospitals/Nursing homes, families would take mom/pop to the hospital ER (in advance of anticipated bad weather) with 'new symptoms' to get them admitted for a few days if they didn't have adequate heat/care at home during a dangerous storm.
Interesting. DC/NOVA is supposed to get some snow, but I'm not seeing that effect in the wait times. Note that these numbers have pretty much remained about the same the entire time through the plandemic. Never saw any major spikes when COVID was "raging".
