To my Canadian friends, I'd like to remind you that you are not alone. Far from it. If you've ever wondered whether you were the only one thinking something's off, whether the country, the politics, the pandemic or even Trudeau's brows, you are not. You're one of many out there thinking the same, too quiet to speak out about it, and hopefully these past few weeks at our capital is evidence of that. Of all the 100000s who showed up in the middle of winter, imagine how many more would if they could.
I'd like to remind you that you are not weak. Far from it. Despite what the jokes say about us, we live through the snowstorms and squalls that few people would dare stand. While others would call it a blizzard, we call it Monday. Canada is also the only nation in the WORLD to have TAKEN DOWN the WHITE HOUSE.
I'd like to remind you that you are not selfish for protesting. Far from it. Many of you have given up your job, your career, and your house. Don't let the people who've given up none of that tell you otherwise. This is more than just a jab. We've taken dozens before we learned how to talk. We're only saying no now because we've learned how to think. What we're protesting isn't about having "our way". It's about tyranny, and while it comes in many forms, even sometimes as a cowardly, browless b*tch, you don't need to open a WWII history book to know what that looks like.
I'd also like to remind the powers at be, the first reminder of many, many more, of one thing. We are only governable because we LET you. We may be polite but that doesn't mean we have to be quiet. There are many of us at the drums marching in front of Parliament, and many more waking up each and every day.
Now let us be.
ONCE MORE FOR THE PEOPLE COWERING IN THE BACK OF PARLIAMENT. LET US BE.
