Most law enforcement knows what's up. Push comes to shove, they'll stand for freedom and liberty. The laws that need enforced are the Bill of Rights to the Constitution and the Canadian equivalent. Those violating those rights need arrested and prosecuted. It's not the protestors doing the violating.
