I think "they" use this excuse because it makes the much more heinous perversions that they are participating in less believeable. They know if the normies believe that a consensual affair between adults is unacceptable in the industry then normies would think it impossible that "they" could be engaging in systematic child abuse. They constantly project purity to keep their extreme dirty shit unbelievable to the public.
