Question about gold stars

I know we frequently draw correlations between vaccine passports and Nazi gold star labels. Has anybody thought about the literal gold stars we all need on our IDs in order to fly or enter federal buildings that goes into effect next year? (Pushed back from 2020)

Not gold, black circle with a star in the center that is the background color or white
