The parents need to bring this to the school boards and make them prove masks work through peer reviewed articles. I was taught in the 1970’s that surgical masks were ineffective after20 minutes due to permeability of moisture on masks from exhalation. Depending on the masks too, carcinogenic particles may actually be inhaled.
