While this news is concerning, these votes are unlikely to have actually changed the the result of the last Canadian election because they are mail-in votes. I could be wrong, but it is my understanding based on having followed the vote count in that election, that the in person votes were counted first. Then they slowly began counting the mail-in votes. However, almost no seats, if any, flipped after the initial count of in-person votes.
However, I did observe that the vote share % for the Liberals (Trudeau's party) started increasing as the mail-in votes were counted. It could be that they were cheating using these 205,000 thrown-out votes or that Liberal voters were far more likely to vote by mail. But they did not change the outcome of the election.
The reason Trudeau's party along with him were not completely thrown out in the last election for 2 main reasons:
The leader of the opposition wasn't just Trudeau light, he was Trudeau in every way except appearance. It turned off a lot of Conservative voters who simply stayed home for lack of choice. This was mentioned by a conservative candidate during a post election interview. He said they just didn't have supporters coming out to vote. Voter turnout in Canada went down even when compared to the last election where it wasn't high by any means.
A lot of Liberal voters have no idea what is going in the country and will go and vote Liberal as a default setting. A PPC candidate was putting up signs and posters in Quebec and was approached by a Liberal voter and asked if he was running for the Liberal party. That person didn't even know the party colours of the Liberal party of Canada even though he planned to vote for them. While Trudeau may have been disliked by a lot of people in Canada, anyone who just follows the main stream media (and that is a descent number of Canadians), would not realize this. And they would also not realize the horrible things he is doing and why it would be in their best interest to vote against him.
In addition, you have to keep in mind, most people did not vote for Trudeau. According to results, his party got only 32.60 % (5,556,629 votes) of the vote during this last election. This is similar in percentage from the last election, but almost 1/2 million less votes when compared to the previous election which had a total of 33.12% (6,018,728 votes).
The electoral situation in Canada is different from the US. In the US, there is rampant cheating and it does change outcomes. In Canada, the way you control elections is by controlling the media. Canadians are, in general, far more trusting of the main stream media than Americans so are far more willing to believe any narrative of lies that get pushed. In addition, I did hear reports of cheating when it comes to the last 2 conservative party leadership votes. And the leader they picked those last 2 times ended up being weak and not very representative of Conservative values (controlled opposition). In fact, last election, it may have actually been better that Trudeau wasn't thrown out because most people know the turd that he is. If he had been replaced with O'Toole (the now former leader of the Conservative party of Canada), we would have the same exact policies with a leader that most people wouldn't realize is as bad as Trudeau. And a leader, that in my opinion, would be smoother at pushing authoritarian policies and make less mistakes than Trudeau, making him harder to get rid of.
