And even these posts are just the tip of the iceberg. It goes so, so, so deep
Have been at this a lot time, back as far as newsletters pre-internet (Eagle Forum) and gun show tables flogging anti-UN booklets. But even then it was impossible to grasp the absolute scope of corruption and how so many could be involved. But then I got a 20 year gig involving national & global travel and the perks that went with it. Fly 1st class or business, stay in great hotels, eat at top restaurants, plenty of downtime to see the sights on the company dime, with a monster paycheck & bonuses, a position that people envy. It's a vantage point you'll never have unless you have fuck you money or someone else subsidizes it. And then it clicked, I finally got it how one could be so easily co-opted into depravity.
You're no one from Podunkville, never been anywhere, and barely getting by. Someone suggests you run for national office and you've thought about it. Maybe you even won in your own state and feel that you can make a difference. You win and you get to DC. You're making 6 figures now, your food, travel, medical, and other expenses are paid for. You get the inside word on stock plays, lobbyists steer your spouse & children into near no-show jobs. Wow, things are really happening! You're important now and doing important work, people "respect" you, you matter. And then it happens, a young lady (or young man) at a lobbyist meet & greet comes onto you and break your wedding vows. And then someone meets with you and tells you "Yeah, they do look older than 15...". This goes far beyond cheating on your wife. Your life is OVER unless you play their game, a game which has even bigger "rewards". You'll go back to Podunkville (where you weren't really making it before) if you don't. You'll lose everything, be in total disgrace, and maybe even go to jail. That's all it took, one loss of integrity moment so... you play their game and, keep playing their game. And their game may even spiral you into even more horrible circumstances that you choose to do.
