Yeah, "loosing" one's job is a terrible (if not impossible) thing to do. Anyway, this person seems to value material wealth over individual freedom, the right to choose, and being able to make truly informed decisions. This is the era of THE BIG CONFORMITY, and it sort of reminds me of an old Japanese saying: The nail that sticks out gets hammered.
