Great insights on this thread so far.

This character definitely blurs the boundaries between the sexes. She has the cartoon physique/strength of any number of recent Disney male characters (Gaston, etc), a low voice, and butchy behaviors. Add the long hair and boobs, and what you get is the modern butch lezzy.

All the other female characters in this movie seem to be recognizable as feminine females (we are talking about a cartoon after all). Why did this character need to be created the way they did?
