Ive read two versions of his flirting with communism.. one is the prevailing theory that he joined and got disillusioned with it and decided national socialism was better There was also writings that indicated he joined on behalf of the fledgling national socialist party as an infiltrator/ spy The latter Ive been somewhat dubious of as it provides a cover story for the faithful to account for their "hero" being a commie for a while.. In either case theres a lot of data indicating he was a commie .. at least for a little while
...we must be reading the same history books Foxy....
👍
I read somewhere that he became completely disenchanted with the Communist agenda during the period he was imprisoned. Hard to say if that's true or if this author is more accurate.
...what you read is the prevailing opinion...
...I found this to be an enlightening counter point to that point of view....
Either way, he had a deal with Stalin that probably got him out of Berlin when it fell
...that is a very popular hypotheses...
...which ties back in with the premise of the article....
Excellent summation, concisely stated.....
....comparing communism to a "religion" is a fair analogy...
...and saying the Cold War is akin to the Crusades is another one.....
Believe the info on Mussolini was from the same text I read about Hitlers involvement in communism..
No.
Hitler hated communism and he couldn't have been clearer about it.
Hitler's greatest political enemy in the 1930s was the German Communist Party (KPD) (a.k.a. Bolsheviks) who created Antifa in 1930, declared a Jewish holy war against German Christians and attempted a failed communist coup against the legitimate German government in 1933.
Hitler chose red, black and white colors for the Nazi flag to mock the traditional communist flag colors.
...your observation certainly coincides with the conventional wisdom concerning this subject....
