I always thank kindly and profusely anyone who holds the door for me, male or female, young or old. I want to show my appreciation and also I want to make up for the grumpy and for the offended.
We all need to hold doors for open for others. I try to get my kids to be aware of people behind them and in front of them, but it is hard for them (aspergers) so I'm still working on it, along with all social courtesies.

Also Modern Woman "My man keeps leaving the toilet seat up. He expects me to put it down myself. I am leaving that caveman!"
I'm female and I think like this. In "his" bathroom (he works from home so uses that one the most) I always put the seat back up. Seems only fair. In the bathroom that we girls use the most, I close the lid. Same if I'm using a bathroom at like a car repair shop, I put it back up. It doesn't have to be all or nothing, all seats up or all seats down, but what side uses it the most.
Yeah lol. It’s just another “Men nowadays suck. Feel sorry for women.” thing. Men get slammed for selfishness by the right all the time. I’d like to see a woman get the same treatment for a change.
I’m a biracial male but I agree fully with what you said. I always got the short end of the stick on both ends because I was a smaller mixed race male who was adopted by whites. I’ve been called a “House Negro” and “The whitest black guy” by whites, blacks, conservatives, liberals, Asians, etc. I think I kinda understand how you guys feel. I always thought of myself as both white and black in heritage. Descendent from slaves and debtors in North Carolina and Georgia respectively. People will be like “Nah you’re just black” or “You’re really just a white guy pretending to be a minority on the internet”. I’m tired of being treated like both an stupid child and a nefarious “race traitor” by the left.
Everyone can do what they want honestly. I would let her sit down in my seat but I was raised with morals and respect. There is though something about equality yadda yadda yadda, women don't want men to be men remember?

I always put the seat down at home, both the seat and the lid, that way, we ALL have to do something, whether we need to pee or poop.
The seat (cover) should be down for reasons of hygiene - especially during flushing.
And fengshui. Having the waste receptacle open is bad.
I still hold the door open for people at the store. It shouldn't just be a southern thing.
