The problem is that Trudeau and his ilk have read Saul Alinsky’s Rules for Radicals, while the truckers have read Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.’s Letter From A Birmingham Jail. (This letter, written by a clergyman to the clergy, is neither short nor easy reading, but it should be required reading for everyone here. Easily found on-line.)
In this long letter, Dr. King spells out the strategy of “non-violent disruptive resistance.” And, he candidly describes the human costs of pursuing it, which can be very great. But, it does work as nothing else will. And, because violence against them is never answered with violence in return, it robs the Alinsky types of their greatest weapon. “What if, as expected, this gigantic protest never erupts into violence? What if no one on the truckers’ side ever loses their temper?” If so, the government never gets to set the terms of engagement to suit themselves. They will have no choice but to listen to the protesters and do what they demand.
Saul Alinsky, like Karl Marx before him, was an academic. He was never actually opposed, nor did he oppose anyone. He just wrote books about it. Per contra, MLK faced violent opposition every day – but was never violent, and he preached against answering violence with violence. This is why he succeeded where others (like Trudeau) failed.
Trudeau is finished. He just hasn’t had the good graces to stop flopping around yet. And, he richly deserves to be driven out of town in tar and feathers. His kind is not what Canada needs. He’s paid to represent Canadians. And if he won’t do that – to borrow a phrase from you-know-who – “Yer Fired!”
From the comments:
Getting fired isn't enough.
These people (the WEF), needs to understand there are consequences for betraying the citizens.
