I have tried to understand the history of Jews. Is being Jewish a geographic thing, or a religion, or both? I met someone in Montana once who claimed she converted to Judaism. And so now she was a Jew, and she identified with the entire Jewish history, especially the holocaust, even though she had no connection to it.
