That's not true. They were cast out of the Temple because they were defiling it with their evil practice of money changing. Period. Are you taking the position that Jesus never saw any money changers outside of the Temple? Why didn't He flip the tables elsewhere?
If you want to establish the Righteous, Holy and True God of Heaven, Who returns to us as a Lion, you don't have to distort the Bible to do it. Just read Matthew 23 real carefully. He did far more damage with His Words, to these idol worshipping babylonian cultists, than He ever did turning over their tables. He SMOKED that ass, with that sharp two edged sword.
They were under the rule of the Roman government at the time of Christ. They had to ask permission to execute someone who violated their religious laws. Roman civilization was far "advanced" at that time, child sacrifices and the like were forbidden. It just wasn't happening on the scale you think it was. Especially not with religious leaders.
The Old Testament is filled with warnings against idol worship and causing children to pass through the fire to moloch. Jesus came only to the lost sheep of Israel, lost because their religious leaders were leading them astray with false doctrines (same thing as today.) He tells an assembled crowd that it would be better for one that hurt this child to never have been born at all. It's not hidden, it was just more imperative for Him to save souls rather than to condemn them.
