Every single airship uses petroleum, either hot air balloon to burn, or rigid ships for their engines to run the propellers...

Who knows. Hindenburg disaster was a big one (whether the elite sabotaged it to put an end to air ships or what who knows). I'm no historian, I just know all airships needed fuel to power propellers so they could actually go somewhere
