Wouldn't it be just as effective if all the truckers just went home and didn't go back out on the road until their demands are met? They can slow down commerce just by not working, and they won't be risking whatever awful shit the government might do to them.

I worry this is going to escalate into violence. Perhaps violence is inevitable at some point, but these guys are going to be helpless without weapons to defend themselves and their families. Maybe this isn't the right way to stand their ground.
