County of origin? I'm in Australia, I suspect it's a geological IP problem... just a hunch.
If you don't have it already, try using Opera GX browser. I think it has a built in VPN you can try to use. It might help

EDIT: Mind you, I can't sign up... it takes me to the "join the waiting list" page.
I could get to that page a couple of days ago already, without needing anything... but I can't seem to sign up or use anything.
I've never turned it on, but I thought it might help your situation. Hope you got signed up with no issues!
U.S. I'd imagine the powers that be in Australia don't want you to join a social media they can't control
Not sure it's blocked in that direction as it's Cloudfare restricted... I don't use my ISP assigned DNS either. I have solved the issue now by using Opera GX built-in VPN.
