Any theories as to why Trump didn't continue to harp on about this? The birth certificate that was provided was so obviously fake it was a joke. Maybe it was too early to start the culling of the deep state?

He held a press conference in early 2016 to address the birther issue. Despite knowing the truth about Barry he made the statement that Obama was an American citizen and put the issue to rest. He trolled the press as only he can. He called a presser and then was late and no one knew what he was going to say. He took the podium and simply stated Obama was American and that was that. Let me see if I can find that presser.
