If the "digital revolution" has taught us anything, it's that anything in digital space can be hacked, given a "virus," attacked, reprogrammed, saturated with ads, saturated with SPAM, and become outmoded within weeks. Example: How many of you still use floppy discs? ...or still have a CD-ROM reader in your laptop? Yeah, I mean THAT kind of rapid obsolescence.
