I've just began a lifestyle change like this as well. I'm also doing 18/6 intermittent fasting and for the most part I've adapted well but occasionally I'll mess up and binge and go get a pizza or something but I mostly got it under control.

I am getting better mental clarity in control over desires and binges when it comes to food having only messed up by smashing pizza twice in a month and when I did I did a 24-hour fast to try to compensate.
I'm losing about 1.5 to 2 lbs a week thus far. Basically what I do is cut out the refined carbohydrate everywhere I can and thetimes when I do have to eat it, like I have a pretty large stockpile of pasta noodles, I just eat them like a reasonable person and not a huge giant portion and continue to fast.
