"During the old Cold War, the KGB was a state within a state. Now the KGB, rechristened FSB, IS the state. ... The Soviet Union had one KGB officer for every 428 citizens. In 2004, with Putin's Russia had one FSB officer for every 297 citizens."
From book called, "Disinformation". Excellent book. Check it out if interested.
Ion Mihai Pacepa, Former Spy Chief for Romania, advisor to Nicolae Ceauşescu
Romania was a communist country until 1989.
The real panty stain, and most concerning, is the relationship between the CIA, the American people, and peoples around the world. Comparitively, the Russian FSB is the "puppy show" when compared to our very own CIA; so enough already.
I have this book in my personal library. I also have his other book called "Red Horizons: The True Story of Nicolae and Elena Ceausescus’ Crimes, Lifestyle, and Corruption." Highly recommend.
