I have to look for the story. Basically Debeers bought all the mines then brought out low numbers at a time to make them valuable. Created a huge marketing hype for diamond jewelry. I will try to find the article again.
IIRC - Diamonds are being grown now in hyper rich carbon gas environments at 800 degrees F.

Cubic Zirconia is a grown diamond. The reason they cannot market them as diamonds is because the DeBeers international diamond monopoly forbids it. The diamond industry is a total scam, and it's an open secret, and nobody will break the DeBeers monopoly in our lifetime.
MSM says we can grow diamonds. Discover Mag. I personally believe this is true, but have never seen this to verify it.
