And the satellite just stays up there when they’re out of commission? More space trash?
Well they are in a very low earth orbit so they would most likely crash down to earth. I think that is the reason for both the 5 year lifespan as well as the need for 42,000 satellites instead of 3 like other telcom companies use.
How do they make sure none of these satellites hit us? 42000 sounds like a lot…should be at least a few floating over bigger cities.
I imagine they would fall under maritime salvage laws.
