I have heard this theory but as we live through history in real time, ot is rather obvious what is going on when a populist leader is demonized by the global order.

Take Trump. Putin. Gaddafi.

One could say that Trump was also bankrolled by the central bank. His campaign was funded by Sheldon Adelson (NOT a good guy) to the tune of $100m. He appointed Goldman Sachs swamp monsters to his admin. I could go on.
