That's very easy to explain. Most of the crews are independent camera guys and sound guys. Most of the time, because of bordom, the sound guy will usually take pictures of the gig that they are on to send to friends and family for a good laugh. The crews are not loyal to the networks, matter of fact they are very much on their own when the producers or talents are around. (not a close relationship with the arrogant ones) Meaning that they are only loyal to eachother (camera guy/ sound guys / sat guy). I was one of those sound guys for 35 years. I worked with every one of those networks. I used to love taking video and pics working with weather channel, because of all the stupid shit they used to pull and they would be my comedy relief for the day. Hated these people. That's why these pics and videos exist.

Local News Media and even passersby took photos because the entire CNN remote broadcast after Hurricane IKE by Anderson Cooper was STAGED.
He was STANDING IN DITCH at the intersection of Texas Highway 62 and FM 105 in Orange, Texas. It was the JOKE of the Texas Coast that Cooper had to fake flooding to broadcast.
TV in general is worthless. They take the lowest common denominator of humanity and try to make it mainstream.
