My aunt and uncle were astronauts (and engineers) for NASA. Trained, but never went up. My aunt was a protege of Von Braun. I used to get a lot of NASA stuff as a kid in the 70s. Unfortunately, they became estranged and I've never spoken to her as an adult. MK Ultra stuff.
