India is the world's largest democracy, IIRC, in terms of peeps.

More's the pity for them.

I didn't think anything from the current maladministration could surprise me after the last year of incompetence, but this is a bone-headed, short-sighted and counterproductive move even for them.

You give them too much credit. They aren't mistaken. They are evil.
