It was not about the Buccaneers colors, I think it was about the state of Florida being protected.

Lightning won the cup, Buccs won, the Soccer team made it to the finals (Rowdies) before they were canceled), and the Rays made it to the world series (where they lost to the Dodgers. Hmmm...)
