Let’s discuss… when you drive through any major thoroughfare, there’s typically a loop (beltway) that circles the straightest route. Through DC, it’s 495 off of I95. It helps to keep traffic ebbing and flowing. In times of traffic (rush hours) people take the beltways to “circle back”. DC and most NE states are older so they weren’t built with suburbs in mind. DC is my nemesis on cross country road trips. I like to drive with the truckers and usually time my departure so I sail through, leaving around 2AM so I don’t hit traffic. Have some faith pedes! These wonderful truckers know exactly what they’re doing to disrupt the ebb and flow! We got dis!
